University of North Dakota captain, Riese Gaber, has signed his first professional contract with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL), the top affiliate of the Florida Panthers in the NHL.
Prior to spending four seasons (2020-24) with North Dakota where he scored 64 goals and 65 assists in 142 games, Gaber played 108 games in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Dubuque Fighting Saints where he was named Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and First Team All-Star (2019-20).
Gaber kicked off his junior career in the MJHL with the Dauphin Kings (2016-18) before being traded to the Steinbach Pistons (2018) where he helped Steinbach to a Turnbull Cup & ANAVET Cup Championship. Gaber finished his MJHL career with 41 goals and 42 assists in 101 games.
