Steelers, Pistons & Blizzard named to CJHL Top 20

TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Monday that the Rockland Nationals (CCHL) remain No. 1 in the latest CJHL Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade – as of Oct. 7.

Under the guidance of head coach Justin Pereira, the Nationals have reeled off eight consecutive victories to commence the campaign in the Central Canada Hockey League.

Sliding up to No. 2 in the 118-team CJHL this week are the Selkirk Steelers (MJHL).

Selkirk is also 8-0 to top the table in the 13-team Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Tabbed No. 3 in the rankings, which are compiled via an independent scouting service, are the Summerside Western Capitals (MHL).

Summerside has skated out to a 7-0 start in the Maritime Hockey League while pacing all clubs there in tallies scored with 44, while boasting a MHL-high plus-27 goal differential.

Right behind them is another MHL-side, the Edmundston Blizzard.

With a victory Sunday over the Truro Bearcats, Edmundston also remains unbeaten, having gone 8-0 to date.

Coming in at No. 5 nationally are the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL).

Trenton boasts an Ontario Junior Hockey League-best .909 winning percentage, having gone 10-1 so far, while winning four in succession.
