Terriers blank Kings to force game six in Dauphin

WINNIPEG, MB – The Portage Terriers had three different goal scorers while Mitchell Kathler made 20 saves to help Portage earn a 3-0 shutout victory over the Dauphin Kings on Saturday night to force a game six in Dauphin on Monday.

Adam Belzil beat Cole Sheffield early in the first period to put the Terriers in front 1-0. Portage outshot Dauphin, 16-9 in the first period and killed off three key penalties to keep their lead.

On an early Terriers powerplay in the second, Cam Bullinger scored his first of the playoffs to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead before making way for Dawson Madden to score in the third period to extend the Terriers lead.


The Terriers would shut the Kings down in the third and take a 3-0 win in game five to extend the series. The Kings hold a 3-2 series lead in the best-of-seven second round matchup with game six set for Monday night in Dauphin.
